Custom Made Voile Curtains Made to Measure: How it Works
Fixed curtain dimensions don't always fit our desired space we want to fill, so these custom made voile curtains are the perfect solution. Printed with your own photos, a quirky pattern or even original artwork, your room will instantly be elevated and brought to life.
Step 1: Measure
Accurately measure the area where you want the curtains to cover to determine whether you need a pair or just one (or multiples). This measurement alone is not enough, as otherwise, your custom voile curtains will be flat when pulled to. It's essential to account for pleats/ruffles/fullness. To achieve this look, we suggest 2x the area you're trying to fill. For example, if your window is 1m wide, you need approx 2m of fabric. If you want a flat net curtain showing your image at its best, we advise fullness of 1.1. If you want the classic look (lots of folds, creating more privacy/opacity) then please be aware that a fullness of two will break up text and imagery.
Please note: To avoid disappointment, we always suggest an additional 1cm of fabric all around to account for hemming and possible fabric shrinkage. Add this onto your calculation.
Step 2: Choose your Hanging Style
We offer the choice of wire hanging or 8 cm pencil heading tape. The wire hanging pocket is 8-10 mm when flat, which will fit a standard 4 mm curtain wire. Our strong tape heading option means you can use your existing runners and easily hook the made to measure net curtains to the rail. If you're replacing curtains, it might be easier to replicate those dimensions.
Step 3: Upload your Photos
You're now ready to design. Simply upload and add your image within the design system. Here you'll be able to edit it, rearrange it etc so it's exactly how you envision.
NB: For widths over 150 cm, we may need to stitch several panels together. In this case, we'll contact you via email to ask for your confirmation before proceeding. Whenever we do this, we try our best to make sure the seam doesn't interrupt your design.
